Post Office or Kinko’s – You Decide
Nate Silver has a funny post referencing his experiences with the United States Post Office as the powers-that-be debate whether to close some offices to reduce a yawning budget gap. He’s had some terrible experiences at government-run U.S. Post Offices but feels that the privately run FedEx Kinko’s is even worse. Here in the Nat’s Cap, I tend to agree: the Eastern Market FedEx Kinko’s is almost always unbearably bad (lack of staff, lack of stuff), while the USPS across the street is actually quite well run. I typically only go to Kinko’s for printer paper, but for some reason I always leave there grumbling. USPS, not so much. Perhaps the real reason I favor the USPS over Kinko’s is because the post office is on the same side of the street as my favorite coffee shop, Peregrine Espresso.
