Paid Content Online: How’s It Working?

Editor and colleague Patrick Boyle points out this interesting article on how newspaper sites that charge are faring. Actually, I’d never heard of the organization publishing the piece, PaidContent.org, which is part of ContentNext Media, an outfit formed in 2002 to study the “economic evolution of digital content.” ContentNext Media is, in turn, owned by Guardian News and Media Limited (Guardian Media Group financials here).

ANYWAY, the articles details how some smaller and medium-sized media outlets are generating revenue by asking people to pay up for good content rather than handing it out for free. Check it out and add your thoughts to the interesting discussion taking place in the comment area.
