AARP Bolsters Advocacy With High-Tech Map

OK, I’m not sure all of AARP’s actual members will be able to use its new health care advocacy map tool, but it’s pretty cool. The site lets people submit their stories or even YouTube testimonials, which are then tracked on a granular level on the map. By selecting certain fields and clicking on red points on the map, users can see, from the congressional-district-level, what gripes people have about the health care system. Importantly, comments display with the member of Congress representing that particular district.  It’s also got a section on myths and other tools. All and all, it’s a pretty good online advocacy tool, but a how-to page might help users — young and old — interact with it.

Update: This picture, via Andrew Sullivan, tells quite a story by itself.
